The purpose of this article is to highlight the tension between some juridical and philosophical-conceptual categories and the new technological frontiers, represented by the Metaverse and its possibilities of human interaction. The legal arrangement of marriage will be taken as a point of reference to verify on the one hand, whether under a philosophical profile the traditional concepts of “place” and “acting subject” can still be considered unchanged and on the other hand, whether an act performed in the metaverse has any relevance in the legal framework. At the end of this paper, I will try to demonstrate how the metaverse leads to a resemantization of some conceptual categories, thus opening up the possibility of considering any act inside the Metaverse as effectively performed.
